Sally’s work has been described as ‘chaotic’ and decorative. Her approach is dictated by technique and in the case of etching, knowing when to stop.
Trained at Hornsea College of Art under Michael Rothenstein and Bartholomew Dos Santos at the Slade School, Sally has an expertise and repertoire of printmaking techniques which contribute to the depth of imagery in her work.
Subject matter includes medieval Christian Symbolism, Ritual and the Sacred, acid-etched metal in armour, fashion and horsemanship in Renaissance Europe and decorative and decadent objects.
From jewellery making to basket weaving, learning new upholstery skills and fabric printing, or illustrating with watercolours, a Ropewalk workshop can be the perfect gift for someone to indulge their creative side.
