Lizzie Brown is a ceramicist, artist, maker and designer. For over 20 years, she has worked as a freelance designer and maker, creating hand-built ceramics that are both decorative and functional. Lizzie works primarily in porcelain, being drawn to its fine, delicate quality. Its soft translucency and fine surface give the ability to hold colour and create ceramics that feel personal, tactile and timeless. Much of her inspiration comes from her own collections: quirky objects, vintage textiles, and found treasures that hold stories.
She is drawn to narrative, nature, and the surrounding landscapes. Birds, hares, bears, and foxes often find their way into Lizzie’s work, interwoven with wildflowers, hills, and intricate patterns. Her designs are created from drawings, stencils, moulds, and handmade stamps and sprigs. Often repurposing old items into new creative forms. All her ceramics are hand-built and painted by hand, using glazes she has developed through years of experimentation and playing around with colour.
