Insight Open Studios 2013
Northern Lincolnshire’s Insight Open Studios continues for its second and final weekend on this coming Saturday and Sunday (September 28 and 29) with artists’ studios, art organisations and galleries from Grimsby in the east to the Isle of Axholme in the west open to the public.
According to organiser Pete Mitchell of The Ropewalk in Barton upon Humber, the first weekend of the annual event got off to a flying start with large numbers of visitors passing through studios throughout the area.
“At The Ropewalk I think we must have welcomed around 350 visitors over the first two days ” he said.
Those who looked around either the 11 galleries and arts organisations or some of the 46 individual artists not only had the opportunity to watch artists at work but also the chance to view, purchase or commission original pieces of art.
“There was really strong support for Insight’s first weekend throughout the area,” Pete added.
This is the 13th year that Insight has run celebrating and promoting the work of northern Lincolnshire’s visual arts and craft practitioners.
A more comprehensive list giving detailed information on each artist and gallery, along with an electronic version of the brochure can be found at www.insightopenstudios.org.uk
Most exhibitors and galleries will be open over the weekend between 10.30am and 5pm daily but please check the brochure or website before setting out.
