Northern Lincolnshire’s Insight Open Studios continues for its second and final weekend on this coming Saturday and Sunday (September 28 and 29) with artists’ studios, art organisations and galleries from Grimsby in the east to the Isle of Axholme in the west open to the public.
According to organiser Pete Mitchell of The Ropewalk in Barton upon Humber, the first weekend of the annual event got off to a flying start with large numbers of visitors passing through studios throughout the area.
The wet and windy weather last Sunday failed to deter visitors to the first Waterside Food Festival held in Barton upon Humber.
A joint venture by The Ropewalk and North Lincolnshire Council Tourism Team, the Food Festival still managed to attract hundreds of visitors to the two venues, The Ropewalk and Waters’ Edge Visitor Centre.
Final preparations are under way for Barton upon Humber’s Waterside Food Festival being held on Sunday. (Sept 15)
Raising funds for Scunthorpe’s Lindsey Lodge Hospice, the event takes place along The Ropewalk Promenade as well as Ropery Hall and the Waters’ Edge Visitor Centre between 10am and 4pm.
One of the area’s most popular acts, the Earthbound Misfits, will be bringing culinary themed entertainment at the first Waterside Food festival to be held in Barton upon Humber.
The Misfits, which were a huge hit at the Stargazing Night at the beginning of the year, will be on the Ropewalk Promenade between 11am and 12 noon with a 10 foot chef, Monsieur Spatula and his waiter, Garcon, while at 2pm they will be delighting the crowds with a static show featuring world renowned chefs Pierre Spatula and Jean Claude Baguette who will be serving up a culinary delight which will include a death defying flaming baguette finale.
An event for all food lovers is taking place in Barton upon Humber next month as the town holds its first ever food festival.
The Waterside Food Festival takes place over the weekend of September 14 and 15 and incorporates the monthly Saturday Barton Farmers’ Market as well as the Waterside Food Festival being held the following day along The Ropewalk Promenade.
