Autumn season of evening meals at The Ropewalk’s Ropery Coffee Shop
The autumn season of evening meals at The Ropewalk’s Ropery Coffee Shop starts with a punch with a Caribbean evening highlighting the very best of that area’s recipes.
The menu for the Caribbean Evening, put together by the Coffee Shop manager Amanda Foster, is being served up on Friday, October 19, with two sittings at 6.30pm and 7pm – the same evening that Snake Davis’ Burden of Paradise band is playing at Ropery Hall.
Highlights of the menu, which costs £18.50 includes some traditional dishes including spicy jerk wings, a coconut chicken curry and a red bean stew followed by desserts including hot bananas and boozy strawberries.
Four weeks before the Caribbean evening Cooks of New Holland will be serving up one of their Pudding Club nights on Friday, September 21 with puddings including traditional favourites, bread and butter pudding, spiced rhubarb cobbler and Old English gooseberry fool as well as a rich dark chocolate roulade.
Before that there is a choice of goats cheese with roast squash, mild pil pil King prawns with Basmati rice of chicken liver pate with redcurrant jelly and Melba toast.
The Pudding Club starts at 7.30pm and costs £20.
