22.01.08 Class gains in popularity The monthly life drawing class tutored by Richard Hatfield at The Ropewalk in Barton on Humber was full to capacity at the end of 2007 and the new programme has expanded to reflect this. Tutor and Ropewalk director Richard Hatfield said ‘The popularity of the class has steadily grown over the past couple of years and the autumn classes last year were oversubscribed. We have now moved the class to a larger room in The Ropewalk and added another class each month to meet the demand. Once the basic drawing techniques have been learnt and developed the participants can progress to produce drawings showing their own individual interpretations of the human form.’ The classes are suitable for the beginner or a refresher for the more advanced student and cost £25 running from 10.30am – 3.30pm. Dates confirmed for 2008 are January 6 & 20, February 3 & 17, March 16, April 13 & 27, May 11 & 25, June 8 & 22. All classes must be booked in advance.
