22.01.08 All Change This Sunday is the last day to view two very successful exhibitions at Ropewalk Contemporary Art and Craft in Barton on Humber. The End of the year Show in Gallery One has been the most successful Christmas show at the gallery since it opened seven years ago. Works on show from artists based in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire have proved very popular with half of the exhibition selling in the run up to Christmas. Gallery director Richard Hatfield said ‘We ask artists in the Year End Show to submit reasonably priced work and it is a time of year when people treat themselves and their families to a piece of art that will last a life time. We have been very pleased with the response to this years show and hope that people continue to buy original art in 2008 supporting the regional creative economy. It is always sad to see an exhibition come down but I am looking forward to what The Ropewalk has to offer in 2008.’ The Ropewalk is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am – 5pm and Sundays 10am – 4pm. |
