Ropery Coffee Shop goes Mexican
The Ropery Coffee Shop in Barton upon Humber is going “down Mexico way” next month with a Mexican food night initiated by Coffee Shop manager Amanda Foster.
“I’ve always loved Mexican food and in this area there is no where to enjoy it unless you go over the river,” she said.
“The menu I have put together has been carefully selected to appeal to those who already enjoy Mexican food and as an introduction to those who would like to try it,” Amanda went on.
The three course meal, which will be served on Friday, September 16, at 6.30pm, includes these Mexican classics spicy fajitas, chili con carne and jambalaya.
All the main courses will have a meat and vegetarian option and, as Amanda explains, the Mexican diet is a healthy one – lots of rice and low-fat food.
“And to wash it down we will have Mexican beers Sol and Brahma to complete the evening,” Amanda continued.

The selectors for 2012 exhibition are Melvyn Petterson who is a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers and runs Artichoke Printmaking Workshop in Brixton. He is joined by artist and former Grimsby School of Art lecturer Alf Ludlam.
The exhibition is sponsored by Intaglio Printmaker, Hawthorn Printmaker Supplies and GKD Litho of Hull.
