Since 2002 working on a series of works ‘I
drew a line for you’ which was described by Dr. Dorian Ker, ‘as
returning drawing to its oldest sociology: the drawing as ritual gift,
as mantric catharsis, as shamanistic well wishing. ‘You’ implicates
the universal ‘you’: mankind; and, universal accord is the
sine qua non of Imanual Kants analysis of what might be considered beautiful.
The line is a metaphor, and reminds the viewer that the line was drawn
for them as a paean of love imploring reciprocity. They are love poems,
not intended for some transcendent deity, but for YOU
