Featured Jeweller for May is John Moore
Winner of The Goldsmiths’ Company Award 2016, artist John Moore, is known for his distinctive designs with fluid movement and use of colour. A growing variety of materials are chosen for their unique properties and engineered to create new forms that humbly pay homage to the beauty he sees in nature. With a broad approach his creations vary from smaller, every-day collections to larger sculptural pieces made for special exhibitions or commissioned for private/public collections. Large or small, each piece is an extension of the body, a device created for positive expression, to enhance and empower the wearer. While making his name in the UK through events such as Origin and Goldsmiths’ Fair John has made regular appearances in the USA at LOOT, SOFA and BIJOUX! Complimentary to his studio practice John speaks publicly about his work and as a visiting lecturer. Other projects involve collaborations with photographers, makeup artists, hair dressers and performance artists, including the creation of his first video for A World Away by GAPS, released in February 2016.
