The Ropery Coffee Shop, only a short distance from the hustle and bustle of Barton town centre, is the perfect place to enjoy home cooked food in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Fresh local produce is used to create a wide variety vegetarian snacks and light lunches. A large selection of delicious freshly made cakes, coffees and organic juices are also available. We pride ourselves on using locally sourced and Fairtrade produce making sure that our ‘food miles’ are low and our taste quality is high.

The Coffee Shop now offers freshly filled baguettes, along with crisps, biscuits and hot and cold drinks, to take away in addition to our already extensive Ropery Coffee Shop menu.

PANINI OF THE MONTH FOR MAY IS: Chicken, Roasted Vegetable & Gruyere Cheese.

May features
The featured vegetable this month is Asparagus. The Asparagus season is very short but it’s well worth the wait for its unbeatable flavour and freshness.

The Cake of the Month is Cherry Bakewell Cake.  If you like Bakewell Tart you will love this cake.  It’s full of almond flavour and sandwiched with cherry jam.

Delicious moist fruit cake with a layer of marzipan cooked inside then topped with marzipan for an indulgent touch.

Choc-o-Lait

Is this the best thing to be exported from Belgium? The Ropery Coffee Shop is now selling what has been described as “sheer heaven on a stick!”

Choc-o-Lait is the perfect creation for all those who love real hot chocolate and as with most great ideas, the concept is simplicity itself: a wooden stick with a block of real Belgian chocolate on the end. Stir for a minute in a mug of hot milk and there you have it – the tastiest hot chocolate you could ever wish for.

We’ve tried dark and milk chocolate, hazelnut and caramel (although not at the same time) and can say that not only is it fun to make but the drink is absolutely delicious. This mug full of self-indulgence costs £2.20.
